The 2011 Ironman Lottery is now open

Qualifying to compete in the annual Ford Ironman World Championship becomes more difficult each year. The lottery provides another way to race in the world’s most challenging event. This year, all 200 slots will be drawn from one pool for selection, not divided between U.S. and International athletes.

Registration will close on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, with winners being announced on Friday, April 15, 2011.

Ironman eBay Auction

The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) will begin its annual Ironman auction with eBay, starting on Sunday, April 25, marking the eight consecutive year for this endeavor. One slot to the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship will be auctioned each week, for four weeks and start with a minimum bid of $10,000.

eBay auction winners will receive private athlete registration in Kona and four VIP packages.

Bidding will begin on April 25 at www.ironman.com.

Ironman 70.3 Racine

Online registration for 2010 Ironman 70.3 Racine opened on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at www.ironmanracine.com. The event is part of a global series that includes 40 races worldwide which qualifies athletes for the 2010 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3.

Ironman 70.3 Racine will be held on July 18, 2010 in Racine, Wisconsin. Athletes will swim along North Beach in pristine Lake Michigan, then continue with a 56-mile bike course through the rolling countryside of Racine County. They will finish with a flat 13.1-mile run through the Racine Zoo and surrounding Lake Michigan.

Ironman Lottery Close Nears

The deadline for athletes interested in earning a slot for the 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship nears. The application deadline is February 28, 2009.

All winning entries will be announced on Wednesday, April 15, 2009.

2009 Ironman Lottery Program

In October of 2009, 200 lucky athletes will find themselves with the opportunity of a lifetime at the Ford Ironman World Championship via the Ironman Lottery Program.

The Ironman Lottery Program will close on February 28, 2009.

150 slots are available for citizens of the United States, and 50 slots available for international competitors, provideing an invitation to the start line at the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
